Under 21 team reach Hastings Shield final

first_imgThe Tipp Under 21 footballers took on Laois in Crettyard last night in the Hastings Shield Semi-Final. In what turned out to be a very tight affair, Tommy Twomey proved once again the depth of his Under 21 side, as he used no senior players due to Sunday’s National League game against Limerick. Tipp came out on top after a frenetic match which went down to the wire and all the way into extra time.  The full time score (after extra time) was Tipperary 3-13 Laois 3-11.Tipp now go on to play 2014 All Ireland Minor champions Kerry in the final, with reports that the game will be played next weekend. Although the County Board have yet to confirm the fixture. The Under 21 team will play Clare or Limerick in the Munster Semi-Final on March 18th.last_img read more
